Bandstand Decision Deferred
Councillors have put off a decision on plans relating to Eastbourne bandstand until after heritage body Historic England have visited the site.
Eastbourne Borough Council’s planning committee had been due last night (Tuesday, 16 September) to discuss a pair of applications seeking permission for “essential safety and improvement work” intended to lead to the reopening of the Grade II-listed seafront building.

Eastbourne Seafront Strategy 2050
We have been asking for your help to create a vision for Eastbourne Seafront for the next 25 years. We want a vision that will help revitalise the town have a lasting positive impact on the environment and wellbeing of local people now and for future generations.
Eastbourne Coastal Management Scheme
Over 18,000 properties are at risk from coastal flooding within the Pevensey Bay and Eastbourne area. We are working closely with others to design an approach to mitigate this risk beyond the end of the century.

Redoubt Fortress
The Redoubt Fortress is a cornerstone of Eastbourne's history. We want to engage and consult with people as part of the seafront strategy, and together develop ideas for its future. This is exactly the kind of project our seafront strategy is designed to support, bringing heritage to life while enhancing the visitor experience along our beautiful coastline.
